Waldron was contracted as the Engineer of Record for the energy center serving the historic TWA Flight Center Hotel at JFK Airport. MCR Development is the investment firm redeveloping the iconic landmark into a new state-of-the-art hotel. Waldron’s role is to design a grid independent combined cooling, heating and power facility for the project. The equipment will include three nominal 335kW CHP engines, with two 280/510kW/kW-hr ESS system. The design scope is a comprehensive engineering scope that will provide a fully coordinated design. The BIM model will be coordinated with and turned over to the building contractor, as well as technical documents that are ready to be issued for bidding and construction. Waldron was the commissioning agent for the project.
