In order to meet the goals of replacing existing out of date capacity, improve reliability and achieving a minimum investment threshold Pfizer Global Manufacturing turned to Waldron to design a new stand alone Combined Heat and Power facility that will be capable of running in parallel with the existing boiler plant and in the event of a loss of service from the utility and the existing plant be capable of providing research with the minimum electricity and steam needs.

Waldron designed a stand alone CHP facility around the Solar Mars gas turbine. The plant includes a supplemental fired HRSG operating at 650 psig, 750 F.
