Waldron Construction Contracted to do a Design-Build Fuel Oil System
Waldron Engineering has been contracted to develop a detailed construction package as part of Waldron ConstructionÃs turnkey design-build project to install a No.2 oil unloading, storage, and transfer system for Con Edison's West Springfield Massachusetts power plant.
Waldron's scope is part of a project team that is converting the plantÃs existing LM6000 gas turbines from their current single fuel operation on natural gas to dual fuel capability (natural gas or no.2 oil).
Waldron Construction is responsible for the engineering (subcontracted to WEI), procurement and construction of a truck unloading station for two tanker trucks, 100,000 gallons of no.2 fuel oil storage as well as fuel forwarding pump systems, instrumentation, controls integration and fire suppression systems.
