Genor Plant in Puerto Barrios, Izabal, Guatemala
Waldron Engineering & Construction has been awarded a contract to perform the detailed Engineering, design and construction for a 5 MW Advanced Tandem Organic Rankine Cycle power plant in Puerto Barrios, Izabal, Guatemala. The ORC will be designed and constructed under a license agreement from patent holder, The Stanton Group out of Sherborn, MA. How it works: The ORC uses waste heat from four fuel-oil-fired reciprocating engine gensets. Power is then generated by expanding a vaporized organic fluid through a turboexapander-driven generator. The plant is scheduled for start-up in 2013.
